Telehealth in Washington

Virtual visits for adult primary care, headache care, follow-up, and more.

Northwest DPC offers telehealth visits by video for patients across Washington. Whether you need primary care, headache care, medication follow-up, lab review, menopause support, mental health follow-up, or a new evaluation that does not require a hands-on exam, telehealth can make care easier to access.

For many patients, virtual care means less travel, less time away from work, and faster follow-up when something needs attention.

Care from wherever you are in Washington

You should not always have to drive across town, rearrange your workday, or sit in a waiting room just to get thoughtful medical care.

Telehealth allows many adult primary care and headache visits to happen by secure video from wherever you are in Washington. For patients in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Cheney, and throughout Eastern Washington, that can make healthcare much easier to fit into real life. It also allows us to care for patients elsewhere in Washington who want a more direct, personalized approach.

This page is not a separate program. It is part of how we care for patients across our practice.

What Telehealth Can Be Used For

Adult Primary Care

  • Establishing care when appropriate

  • Medication follow-up

  • Blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, or thyroid follow-up

  • Lab review

  • Mental health follow-up

  • Menopause and perimenopause follow-up

  • Minor illness follow-up

  • Second opinions and care planning

Other Practical Uses

  • Reviewing records

  • Discussing next steps after urgent care or ER visits

  • Going over imaging or outside specialist recommendations

  • Deciding whether an in-person visit is needed

Headache and Migraine Care

  • New headache evaluations

  • Chronic migraine follow-up

  • Medication management

  • Treatment planning

  • Review of triggers, patterns, and response to therapy

  • Discussion of whether Botox, nerve blocks, CGRP treatments, or other options may make sense

  • Follow-up after procedures or after trying a new treatment plan

Telehealth for New Patients

New patients can start care by telehealth when appropriate.

That can be especially useful for:

  • Patients across Washington who want to establish care

  • Headache patients seeking a new consultation

  • Patients who want to review records and discuss options before coming in

  • People with transportation, distance, or scheduling barriers

In some cases, an in-person visit may still be requested, depending on the reason for the visit and the type of evaluation needed.

Telehealth for Headache and Migraine Care

Virtual headache care can work surprisingly well.

A thoughtful headache visit often depends heavily on history: what the headaches feel like, how often they happen, what symptoms come with them, what treatments have been tried, and what patterns are emerging over time. That makes telehealth a strong option for many headache consults and follow-ups.

Telehealth may be especially helpful for:

  • Chronic migraine

  • Recurrent headache follow-up

  • Medication adjustment

  • Second opinions

  • Treatment planning

  • Deciding whether procedural care should be added in person later

If procedures such as Botox, occipital nerve blocks, or trigger point injections are part of the plan, those would still happen in person.

Telehealth for Primary Care

Virtual primary care is not just for urgent questions.

It can be used for many of the things patients actually need most often:

  • Follow-up after labs

  • Chronic condition check-ins

  • Medication review

  • Mental health follow-up

  • Menopause or hormone-related symptom review

  • Discussion of new but non-emergency concerns

  • Deciding whether a problem can be managed at home, virtually, or needs office evaluation

For the right problem, telehealth can save time without sacrificing thoughtfulness.

How This Fits with Northwest DPC & Headache

Telehealth is one part of a broader model built around access.

Our live DPC site already explains that members can have in-person and virtual visits, and that some concerns can be handled by phone or video instead of requiring an office trip. The FAQ also describes unlimited visits in person or virtually as part of membership.
