FAQ

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based healthcare model where you pay a flat monthly fee—usually less than your phone bill. This includes in-person visits, virtual care, and ongoing management without the need for insurance, billing codes, or copays. Did we mention that as long as we’re open, we don’t limit these either?

Technically, no, you do not need commercial insurance to see us. We don’t bill commercial insurance at this time.
Regardless, we recommend that patients maintain some form of insurance for services that fall outside the scope of primary care—such as hospitalizations, surgery, specialist visits, or advanced imaging. Many of our patients opt for high-deductible insurance plans, which are often more affordable and can be paired with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

Yes, members can text message Dr. Stewart directly during business hours. After-hours messages will be answered the next business day.
-
Unfortunately, any urgent concerns after hours that cannot wait until the next business day should go to urgent care or the Emergency Room (Chest pain, stroke-like symptoms, trauma). For things that can wait, members can message us and be seen within the next 1-2 business days for urgent care needs.
-
Yes. We offer a month-to-month membership with no long-term contracts. If you need to cancel, just let us know and we will work with you to pro-rate that month. If you ever want to rejoin, we will welcome you with open arms.
If you rejoin later, there will be an enrollment fee.
The enrollment fee is waived the first time you enroll.

Concierge practices typically bill insurance and charge an extra fee for access. The fees are typically much higher than DPC membership.
Direct Primary Care eliminates insurance billing altogether.
Our pricing is transparent, affordable, and rooted in direct care — not layered costs like concierge.
Patients are also able to use their HSA funds to pay for Direct Primary Care.
-
Unfortunately, Internal Medicine physicians are only trained in diagnosing and treating adults.
-
Yes. We currently accept traditional Medicare Part B (also called “Original Medicare”). This includes any Medigap coverage.
However, we are not able to see patients who have Medicare Advantage plans (Part C).
-
Unfortunately, not at this time. Medicare Advantage plans come with restrictions from CMS and private insurance companies that prevent us from providing the type of direct, relationship-based care we believe in.
-
We currently only bill Traditional Medicare and L&I claims. Otherwise we accept HSA funds or direct-pay. By limiting the insurance we bill, we work directly with you, not insurance companies. This allows us to offer transparent pricing, more personalized care, and complete control over your treatment — without third-party restrictions or surprise billing.
That said, you can still use your insurance in several helpful ways:
Reimbursement: If you're receiving headache care or one-time visits, we can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt with diagnostic and billing codes) that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Medication coverage: We will send your prescriptions to your pharmacy and your pharmacy will bill them through your insurance. This is the usual route people are familiar with.
HSA/FSA payments: You can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for both your DPC membership and headache-related services — giving you tax-advantaged access to care.
